About Us
Vintage Jag Works is a family business that started in Utah in the 1980's. The business moved to eastern Idaho in 1993. We specialize in component rebuilding/restoration for older Jaguars.
Walt always had a love of automobiles and especially of Jaguars. His first full-time job was at the local Studebaker dealership as an assistant parts man. He bought his first Jaguar when he was 19 years old and owned and operated Jaguar parts and repair shops in Arizona, Illinois, Utah and Idaho.
Walt brought his sons, Joe and Rob, into the business to start their training when they were pre-teens. Arlene started much later by comparison, working in the office part-time while she was going to college. Over the years Joe and Rob have been involved in every aspect of restoring and rebuilding Jaguars. By the time they were in their twenties they were doing most of the work in the shop which left Walt able to do his favorite thing which was to talk to people and help them out with their problems.
For the last 15-20 years before Walt retired at the age of 81, he mainly talked to people on the phone and wrangled the parts while Joe and Rob did all of the rebuilding and work in the shop. After he retired in 2022, Joe, Rob and Arlene took over running the business, focusing on rebuilding components for the vintage Jaguars. Walt passed away in February of 2024 at the age of 82. He is greatly missed by those who knew him but the family business he started keeps rolling along.
